the fact that Carlos was a professor is so funny to me. this was a man in his mid-thirties with a Career tm and a Salary tm and then one day he abandoned that for a sabbatical and left to research night vale, then proceeded to stay in night vale for no reason other than that he’s gay and batshit unhinged. like he went from grading papers in an office, to wooing a slutty immortal radio host while dead animals rain from the sky around them. imagine you look up your old instructer on ratemyprofessors and you can’t find any trace of him because his linkedin points to a town that no maps recognize, where he moved to basically be a malewife and do sidequests. and night vale didn’t even make him weird, he’s just always been Like That and it gave him the opportunity to let all that weirdness out. it’s so sexy of him, you go funky science man

emerie-karr asked:

Galen is by far my favorite Star Wars character he’s awesome

outcaststar answered:

Galen Marek is the canonical founder and savior of the Rebel Alliance, which even adopted his family crest in honor of him and his sacrifice. I’ll fight anyone to the death on that hill.

If Princess Leia and Senator Organa say it is so, it is so. I don’t give a damn what Di$ney says about the Expanded Universe or matters of canon, especially after their unending butchery and destruction of it. Starkiller is also everything as a character, a fascinating tragic villain/hero connected to Darth Vader, that they utterly failed to make Kylo Ren. He is the best Expanded Universe character by far, created by vastly better writers, and Kathleen Kennedy and the other fools in charge shot off their own foots in trying to decanonize him. And even if they did one day bring him into their version of canon, he would undoubtedly be defiled and weakened in power, character and importance. For all the people who annoyingly claim he was too overpowered, a Gary Stu with no place in the Star Wars canon, they clearly weren’t paying any attention at all to his origin, screwed up upbringing, training, flaws and shortcomings and problems, his inner turmoil. And regardless of however powerful he was with the Force, what really went right for him in the end? He lost and died despite it. Doesn’t sound like a Gary Stu to me.

With the Force as his ally, he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called “The Death Star”, where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts.―Epitaph of the Unknown Jedi

The video was taken in 2019 by Wendy Bower-Leech on a trip with the shark cage diving company Calypso Star Charters off the coast of Port Lincoln, South Australia

This untagged individual has a length of 3.5 m

Normally when sharks are turned upside down they experience a trance-like condition known as tonic immobility but that is not the case here, the fish is fully conscious and active, it could be that the animal might even show some sort of play behaviour here considering the fact that great white sharks are very intelligent
